MCOM 001 - Introduction to Mass Communication - Units 3

This course is a comprehensive study of the history, development, and current state of the mass media, including newspapers, magazines, television, radio, on-line services, public relations, advertising, and photojournalism, emphasizing their function and obligations in a free society. The course also addresses controls on the media, including mass media law and ethics. The constitutional basis for a free press is extensively explored. (UC, CSU, CAN JOUR4)
