Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) CSU General Education Pattern
Completion of the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) permits students to transfer from San Joaquin Delta College to a campus of either the California State University or the University of California without the need after transfer to take additional lower division general education courses to satisfy the campus' general education requirements. Students may also opt to fulfill the general education requirements by completing the specific lower division general education requirements of the school or college of the campus to which the student intends to transfer.
Both the California State University and the University of California have a specific American Institutions requirement that is separate from their general education requirements. Completion of the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum will not satisfy the American Institutions requirement. Courses used to satisfy the American Institutions requirement may not be counted to satisfy either of the Humanities (area 3) or a Social and Behavioral Science (area 4) requirement.
