Instructors are strongly encouraged to drop students whose absences become excessive. After the fourth week, a faculty member may dismiss a student from class when, at any time during the semester, the student’s absences for any reason reach three times the number of times the class meets per week prior to the last day of the fourteenth week of the semester.
Students may be dropped using the electronic Drop Roster throughout the course of the semester or intersession up until the last day with a "W" notation on the academic transcript.
The Drop Roster can be submitted multiple times beginning with the first day of the term through the final day to drop with a "W" notation on the transcript (see "Due Date, located below your Course Code and Dept. No). The date you submit the roster will be the date reflected on the student's record as the date the course was dropped.
Click on the "Drop" button to select the student(s) to be dropped. When finished selecting student(s) to be dropped, scroll to the end of the screen and press the Submit button in the lower left corner. It is a good idea to print a copy of the roster for your records prior to submitting it.
