What is My Delta?
My Delta (my.deltacollege.edu) is an online web portal provided by San Joaquin Delta College for Students and Faculty.  My Delta provides a variety of personalized information to users about the college organized in different tabs and channels.

How can I access and start using My Delta?
Go to my.deltacollege.edu and use your Delta e-mail address name (without the @deltacollege.edu) and PIN number you received during registration. Then, click the "Login" button.

What browser should I use for accessing My Delta?
We recommend that you use the latest versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE7 or later) or Mozilla Firefox (2.0 or later).

Browser cookies and JavaScript must be enabled in order for My Delta to function properly.

What services does My Delta provide?
My Delta provides a variety of services for San Joaquin Delta College students organized in the following tabs:

• Students (Main Page):
  From this tab, you can use My Delta to view up to date information about yourself such as student schedules, emails, and holds.  In addition, news and alerts are provided here so you don’t miss any important due dates or information from San Joaquin Delta College.
• New/Returning Students:
  This tab contains links to everything you need to do to successfully register and begin your education at San Joaquin Delta College.
• Continuing Students:
  This tab is for current students who are continuing their education with San Joaquin Delta College.  This tab provides information about class registration, financial aid, important dates, and other business.
• My Information:
  This tab provides you with quick access to all your student information and includes student holds, schedules, grades, assessment test progress, academic history, and links to evaluation services for information about transcripts and the graduation process.
• Online Courses:
  This tab provides information about online courses and access to the online class login page.  This tab also provides links to many online services provided by San Joaquin Delta College including the bookstore, help, and email.
• Student Resources:
  This tab provides students with a variety of resource links including special programs, student life, student labs, library services, and the bookstore.

In addition, My Delta allows for you to add and customize your own tabs.

What are web portals, tabs, and channels?
Web portals are web pages that can unify a variety of information in one place.  The My Delta web portal uses tabs to seperate different categories of information about the school.  Within these tabs, the information is further separated into specific, individual channels that may provide certain functions.

How can I easily find the information I need?
Click on the site map button in the upper right hand corner’s navigation bar and select the section needed.

How can I get help on a particular topic?
Many of the My Delta channels have mail links and phone numbers you can call if you need additional help on a particular topic. The mail links will open up your default email client.

If you do not have a default email client or use a web based email service, copy the email address by right clicking on the link and choosing "Copy Shortcut" (or "Copy Link Location"). You can then paste this address into the address bar of the email client you are using.

What do the channel buttons do?

• Focus (maximize) button - allows you to just view that channel on the current page. Click on the Return button () or the home button on the top right navigation bar to return to your normal view.
• Hide (minimize) button - this will minimize the channel into a single bar. This is useful for giving other items on the page more room, or to hiding information in a print. To return this channel to its normal state, click the Show button ().
• Detach button - this will show just this channel in a new window. To return to your original view, close or minimize the new window.
• Remove (close) button - this will get rid of a channel from the tab completely. This is disabled for all of My Delta's default content. However, you can use this option in your own personal customized tabs. To get a channel back that has been removed, you must add the channel to that tab again.
• Edit button - this will allow you to view and change the edit options for a channel. None of My Delta's default channels use this functionality.
  

What is the best way to print individual channel information from My Delta?
The best way to print individual channel information from my Delta is to view just the one channel you want to print by using focus () or detach ()buttons for that channel (as described above) and using File->Print.

How can I print the entire page of information?
Just go to File->Print. However, the logo and layout images may not appear on the print out, and some information may be shrunk to fit the print area.

If you would like all the graphics to appear on the page you are printing, turn on your browser’s “Print background” option, by doing the following:

• Internet Explorer:
  Tools->Internet Options->Advanced Tab, then scroll down to Printing.  Check the “Print background colors and images” option, then click apply and ok.
• Firefox:
  File->Page Setup, then check the “Print Background (colors & images) option and click ok.

How do I securely log out?
Click on the "Logout" button on the top right navigation bar and completely close your browser to securely log out.

How can I customize My Delta?
One of the unique features of My Delta is the ability to customize your user interface by adding your own tabs and channels (from a selection of channels).  However, you cannot modify the already existing tabs/channels.
